Staying Safe When Traveling In Your Car

Published / by adminjc

Hi Everyone,

While most of us don’t live in our cars, some of us may sleep in our cars, or RVs overnight when going out on a shoot. Before you do this, check out this article by Nicole Jordan. Two years ago she chose to live out of her car and travel the country. In the article, she lists 17 things she does to stay safe. These tips are good for people who are spending the night in a car or RV, or are even parking at a trailhead to take a hike.

Two things I would add are buying a tool to break a window and cut a seat belt. They are cheap and can save your life. Also, you can set off your car alarm if you are threatened. This will grab the attention of everyone in the area.

What’s In My Bag – 5-in-1 Reflector

Published / by adminjc

Hi  Everyone,

In this issue of What’s In My Bag, I talk about my 5-in-1 reflector.

I love photographing in nature, but you have little to no control of lighting. You can get up early, or shoot at sunset, but clouds, trees, plants, shadows and other aspects of nature can keep you from getting that perfect shot.

The easiest way around this is to have a reflector that will let you shine light where you need it, or cut back on the light on a bright sunny day. It only works for small things, like models, bushes, flowers and the like. The nice thing about reflectors is that they are small, light and easy to use. And the one I use lets you do five different things with light.

Check out my video and you may find that a reflector is just what you have been looking for.
