Hi Everyone,

I like to photograph old cars, trucks and equipment. As they say, “They don’t make them like that anymore.” They have interesting shapes and designs, lots of chrome, and often remind me of my youth.

This photo was taken at the Gold King Mine in Jerome, Arizona. I can only imagine the heavy work this old guy has done. But even with all of that work, peeled pain and rust, I believe a little work could still get it running.

It reminds me of riding in my grandfather’s old pickup as he delivered ice in Los Angeles, California. I would help him when we visited, and it was great spending part of the day in a 33 degree ice house when it was over 100 degrees outside. Why 33 degrees and not 32? I have no idea, but the ice didn’t melt, so it worked just fine. And delivering ice to grocery stores, bars and Santa Anita Park (a Thoroughbred racetrack) was a lot of fun for a kid.
