Brins Mesa Fire - This fire burned 4,317 acres (17 km2) on Brins Mesa, Wilson Mountain and in Oak Creek Canyon in June 2006. Fighting the fire cost an estimated $6,400,000. As a resident of Sedona at that time, I want to give a huge "Thank You" to all the amazing firefighters and support staff that fought this beast. You all did an amazing job. |

Jerome - Jerome started out as a mining town, where tons of gold, silver and copper were mined. When the mines ran out the population dropped until less than 20 people lived in the town, and Jerome was declared a ghost town. Today it's a thriving artist's community, well worth a visit. |

Logging - Logging is one of the major industries in Arizona. Mountains covered in trees have kept this industry going for well over 100 years. Logging began in the ponderosa pine forests of the southern Colorado Plateau in the 1870s, to supply the railroads with ties and other products for the transcontinental railroad. |
