Jerome

Jerome started out as a mining town, where tons of gold, silver and copper were mined. When the mines ran out the population dropped from 15,000 to less than 20, and Jerome was declared a ghost town. Today it’s a thriving artist’s community, well worth a visit.

Gold King Mine and Ghost Town in JeromeHere you’ll find a fantastic collection of old cars, trucks, mining equipment, a functioning saw mill, two mineshafts and much more. It’s filled with pieces of history that are fascinating to see. You will also encounter chickens, rabbits and a burro that roam around the Ghost Town.
