Wallpaper-2016-01 January 2016Download Here I found these pictographs while hiking in the Flagstaff area. There were also symbols for water, as this marked a small spring, and a hand print. It’s a pretty amazing find.

February 2016Download Here The Petrified Forest is really an amazing place. Most of the petrified trees consist of coniferous trees, tree ferns, and some gingkoes. It’s considered one of the largest concentrations of petrified wood in the world. The fossil bearing layer, the Chinle Formation, is about 1,968 feet (600 meters) thick.

Wallpaper-2016-03 March 2016Download Here This month shows Adam Winrich and his Fire Whip at the Arizona Renaissance Festival. Head on out to the Festival and see him in person.

Wallpaper-2016-04 April 2016 Download Here This old house in Jerome has been completely renovated. The new house looks great, but it doesn’t have any of the character of this old beauty.

Old buildings like this keep disappearing in two ways. Either they are in a ghost town, and nature reclaims them, or they are in a town with people, and they are torn down or renovated. Once buildings like this are gone, they are gone forever. I would imagine that in Jerome, almost all the old homes and buildings will be gone within ten years. Be sure to visit Jerome and similar places before these structures disappear into the pages of history.

Jerome May 2016Download Here This is one of the grand old buildings in Jerome, Arizona.

Wallpaper-2015-06 June 2015Download Here This is Colette Dessingue of Jamila Lotus. Colette, and the rest of the dancers and musicians, are a great belly dancing troupe that we watch every year at the Arizona Renaissance Festival.

August 2015Download Here This is the top of a fence in Jerome, Arizona. Jerome is an old mining town, turned ghost town which has been reborn as a great artist’s community. My photographs are in the Old State Motor Building Gallery, across the street from Grapes Restaurant and down the stairs.

October 2015Download Here Artist’s Fungus, Ganoderma applanatum – Lamar Haines Memorial Wildlife Area, Flagstaff. This fungus grows on dead trees, and is as hard as wood. There are many of them growing in the Lamar Haines Memorial Wildlife Area.

November 2015Download Here Snow in Sedona is something you don’t see as much any more. When I moved here 22 years ago, every winter had snow. Now it’s not uncommon to have no snow in the winter. If snow does fall, it’s usually very light, and it melts away by noon the following day. This was taken near Uptown Sedona.

December 2015Download Here Winter, a time of cold and slumber. As you view this photograph of a long dead Ponderosa Pine, be thankful for the heater in your home, car and office.
